What Can I Do
In A Swamp?

~Boat Tour:
This is one of the best ways to see the Park. Your boat trip will take you down narrow Seminole Indian Waterways. Your guide will be a wealth of information about the Okefenokee.

~Okefenokee Railroad Tour:
Another great way to see the swamp, aboard the "Lady Suwannee". This guided tour will take you one and a half miles on the edge of the wetlands and stop at Pioneer Island for a look at the recreated homestead and Wildes Cabin Museum.

~"Eye On Nature":
This is a favorite part to everyone's visit!! Here you will get up close and personal with some of the park’s young alligators and native snakes.

CANOEING

Day Trips- - Canoe the Headwaters of the Suwannee River. A canoe, paddles and floatation cushions are provided for the day. Tour the swamp at your own pace. Bring your own lunch or get something to go from "Three Pigs BBQ".

Day trip package price includes all general admissions at OSP and access to the 90-foot observation tower.

Canoe Rental Requirements
(Rules and Regulations)
1. Must be 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult (3 occupants per canoe only).
2. Must be able to swim.
3. Alcoholic beverages / intoxicants / firearms prohibited.
4. Do not feed the wildlife.
5. Do not exit the canoe along the trail.
6. Do not stand or "horse around" in canoe.
7. Keep hands and legs inside canoe at all times.
8. Must check in at 4:30 p.m.
9. Responsible for park's lost / damaged equipment.
10. Follow existing marked canoe trails.

Welcome to the Okefenokee Swamp Park! We want your visit to be safe and enjoyable. There are a few requirements for canoe launches that insure your safety and also help us protect this valuable resource for future generations.

Rules and Regulations
(Please be sure that all participants read and understand each of the requirements.
1. You must be off of the water no later than 4:30 p.m.
2. Each person must be 18 years of age or older - or accompanied by an adult.
3. Each person must be able to swim.
4. All alcoholic beverages, intoxicants and firearms are PROHIBITED.
5. DO NOT feed the wildlife.
6. DO NOT exit the canoe at any time along the trails.
7. DO NOT stand or "horse around" in the canoe.
8. Keep hands and legs inside the canoe at all times.
9. The park is not responsible for any lost or damaged equipment.
10. Follow the existing marked canoe trails and do not go beyond the "NO CANOES" signs posted at the end of trails.
11. We strongly recommend that you do not take "valuables" with you. We will not be responsible for any lost articles.
12. Please do not take or pick any vegetation along the trails as "souvenirs".

Okefenokee Swamp Park will not be responsible for loss of possessions carried on canoes. If it becomes necessary for the park to do search and rescue of you and your party due to non compliance with the above rules, you the canoer(s), will be responsible for any recovery costs involved.
