What Can I Do
In A Swamp?

~Boat Tour:
This is one of the best ways to see the park. Your boat trip will take you a mile and a half round trip (30-minute tour) into the Seminole Indian waterways. Your guide will be a wealth of information about the Okefenokee.

~Okefenokee Railroad Tour:
Another great way to see the swamp, aboard the "Lady Suwannee". This guided tour will take you one and a half miles on the edge of the wetlands and stop at Pioneer Island for a look at the recreated homestead and Wildes Cabin Museum.

~"Eye On Nature":
This is a favorite part to everyone's visit!! Here you will get up close and personal with some of the park’s young alligators and native snakes.

Discover the Wilderness in Your Backyard!

The Okefenokee Swamp is famous throughout the world for its alligators, cypress trees, and colorful history. It is recognized by the United Nations as a "Wetland of International Importance" because of the diversity of wildlife it supports. And it's right in your own backyard!

"Eye on Nature"

This is an educational opportunity of a lifetime. Participants will learn more about the native animals of the Okefenokee Swamp during a 20-25 minute program designed for all ages. This is the only Okefenokee Swamp Program available on a year round basis.

"Can I See?"

During your visit to our Park you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of native wildlife from several observation areas and platforms. Bring your camera and get some great candid shots of our otters, black bear, white tail deer and alligators. A map of the Park is provided for you so you can get back to nature.
